Jill Rockwell, Senior Assistant Dean for Student and Career Services, oversees the administrative units of admissions, student affairs, and career services, working with the other members of the student services team to strengthen students’ co-curricular and career-related experiences at the Batten School. Before joining the Batten School in 2008, Rockwell spent nearly a decade working at Duke Law School, both in career advising and as the law school’s Associate Dean of Students.  Prior to these positions, she practiced employment law at the Chicago office of Littler Mendelson and served as the Director of Career Advising and co-director of publications at the University of Illinois College of Law. She earned her JD, cum laude, from the University of Illinois, and her BA in journalism and political science at Indiana University. Contact Jill at jill.rockwell@virginia.edu.

Barbara Hampton is the Batten School’s Director of Career Services. A "Double ’Hoo," Barbara earned a M.Ed. in Counselor Education in 2003 from the Curry School of Education, specializing in Student Affairs Practice in Higher Education and a BA in Psychology and Spanish in 2001 from UVa’s College of Arts & Sciences. With a long-standing passion for helping students attain internships and jobs, Barbara worked at UVa's University Career Services (UCS) from 2003-2013 in various roles, including Extern Coordinator, Career Counselor for Experiential Learning, Assistant and Associate Director of Employer Services, and Director of Employer Services. For almost six years, she managed the CAVLink recruiting system and directed employer relations to provide networking opportunities for UVa students through the On-Grounds Interviewing (OGI) program, Government and Non-Profit Career Expo, New York Recruiting Alliance, and other university-wide career fairs. Barbara has also been actively involved in several professional associations, including the Virginia Association of Colleges and Employers (VACE). Hannah Rose Bainter
is the Batten School’s Assistant Director for Student and Career Services. Before joining the Batten School, Hannah Rose served the U.S. Air Force as a management consultant and then senior consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton. Concurrently, she supported high school and college students as a consultant for Position U 4 College, a career advisory firm, offering resume and interview preparation services. Additionally, while an undergraduate, Hannah Rose was awarded the prestigious Archer Fellowship, through which she interned for the U.S. Department of State in the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation. Hannah Rose graduated with Highest Honors, Phi Beta Kappa, from The University of Texas at Austin with a double major in Government and Sociology.
