Betty Shotton is the Founder and CEO of Liftoff Leadership and a Partner with Berkana Consulting Group. She is a serial entrepreneur, having started and led over six companies in real estate and aviation. She is an accomplished author and speaker on leadership and is a Strategic Coach and Advisor to CEO’s and Executives.

Key Accomplishments

Shotton’s largest endeavor went public on the NYSE as ResortQuest International and is currently owned by VACASA. She also established commercial air service on the Outer Banks of North Carolina with SouthEast Air and Sea Air. She is the author of Liftoff Leadership and has spoken extensively on leadership character , purpose driven business and most recently the importance of failure and adversity in leadership development. Betty currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Batten Advisory Board.

Personal Background

Betty was part of the first class of women admitted to the University of Virginia . She is a strong supporter of the school and is especially committed to the mission and growth of The Batten School. She is a Commercially Rated, ATP Pilot. She is an avid hiker, backpacker and traveler to places that the average tourist would find hard to access.
