Charity Fowler is the writing instructor at the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. She is currently writing her dissertation to complete her PhD in Media, Art and Text at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she also earned her M.A. in English Literature.
In addition, Ms. Fowler holds a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and is licensed to practice law in California and Nevada. Prior to returning to academia, she spent six years as a Deputy Legislative Counsel to the Nevada State Legislature where she advised legislators on legal implementation of policy matters and served on several legislative and interim committees as legal counsel.
Her research interests include media and the law, feminist media studies and critical cultural studies, including the way legal and policy shifts in society are reflected and critiqued within popular and digital culture.
