Join us as we mark the 279th anniversary of Thomas Jefferson’s birth with a celebration and ceremony on Monticello's iconic West Lawn, featuring a keynote address from this year's Thomas Jefferson Foundation Medalist in Citizen Leadership, Sherrie Rollins Westin.

The Batten School, who selects the Citizen Leadership Medalist, is honored to recognize Ms. Westin for her unwavering commitment to public service. Through her leadership at the Sesame Workshop they have helped numerous families and children navigate the unprecedented disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic, fostering empathy and honest conversations about the hard topics we have faced in our culture.
