The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy is proud to announce a new video podcast, Grounds to Listen. Hosted by Batten School Dean Ian Solomon, the podcast features insightful conversations with leaders and scholars from diverse backgrounds, exploring their personal stories and delving into the art of leadership in an increasingly diverse and divided world.

In a series of intimate conversations, Dean Solomon will sit down with a wide range of thought leaders, scholars, and change-makers to discuss their journeys, experiences, and strategies for navigating an ever-evolving global landscape.

The first episode features former Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore, who served as the leader of the state during the September 11 terrorist attacks. A UVA alum and two-time Republican presidential candidate, Gilmore discussed his own journey into politics and offered his thoughts on whether leadership skills are innate or can be taught.
