About
As the associate director of content, Anyah helps translate the Batten School’s communications and marketing strategy into action by overseeing editorial, video, and creative processes, ensuring consistent and compelling storytelling. She helps to promote the impact of Batten change-makers through earned media, newsletters, and multimedia in an effort to implement strategic objectives and campaign initiatives.
Prior to joining UVA Batten in 2026, Anyah spent 15 years working at the intersection of policy, science, and public engagement. Most recently, she served as Digital Media Manager at NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., where she led digital strategy and content for the Space Technology Mission Directorate. Her work focused on translating highly complex and technical material into clear, compelling narratives, while maintaining rigorous factual accuracy and institutional voice. Earlier in her career, she shaped editorial strategy and thought leadership as the Associate Editor and Speechwriter at the American Wind Energy Association, helping position the organization as the leading voice for the industry.
Before diving into her communications career, she had a brief stint working as a restaurant manager and event planner at Bobby Flay Steak at the Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, NJ. The restaurant industry holds a special place in her heart, instilling an entrepreneurial mindset and a deep-rooted belief that food can be a powerful unifying force.
Anyah graduated from the George Washington University with a B.A. in International Affairs and a concentration in conflict resolution. During her time in college, she worked at the U.S. Department of State’s Office of the Chief of Protocol and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Anyah moved to Charlottesville in 2019 and found her home living amidst the mountains and vineyards. She is an avid hiker, cook and host, reader, traveler, concertgoer, and cat mom.
