There will be a discussion moderated by Adam Shapiro, followed by a short audience Q&A and book signing with both authors.

His Excellency Daniel Mulhall, Ambassador of Ireland to the United States, will speak as part of the University of Virginia Center for Politics’ Ambassador Series. Ambassador Mulhall will address the relationship between Ireland and the United States with emphasis on the countries’ Declarations of Independence for which Ireland celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2019. This event is in partnership with UVA’s International Residential College and the Batten School for Leadership and Public Policy.

Join us as Patrick Steel, CEO of Politico, visits Batten for a lively disucssion. This event will be hosted by first year MPP/MBCA student Emma Finkelstein. Mr. Steel’s portfolio includes oversight of operations, strategy, and growth. He came to POLITICO from FBR Capital Markets & Co., based in Arlington, Virginia, where he was Senior Managing Director and Co-Head of Capital Markets. During his sixteen years at the firm, Mr. Steel raised capital and provided financial advisory services to a wide range of businesses.
