Professor, entrepreneur, and former star athlete Deborah Stroman was our guest speaker for Batten Hour on Monday. Stroman – the first African-American woman to receive an athletic scholarship from the University, in 1978 – reviewed the policy implications of the changes in Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights and the transfer portal in the NCAA.
