For the latest edition of Batten Expert Chats, Batten professor Jeanine Braitwaithe will discuss the Sudan Family Support Project, a joint initiative between the World Bank and the government of Sudan. The program will offer cash aid to Sudanese people during a time when their country is stepping up to tackle an array of political and economic challenges. What goals does the SFSP hope to achieve, and why were cash transfers—akin to the stimulus checks Americans have received during the pandemic—chosen to meet them? Who is interested in supporting Sudanese families, and why? Braithwaithe will answer these questions and others posed by participants. Join the conversation on Zoom.
