Minor in Social Entrepreneurship

Be a Changemaker

The Minor in Social Entrepreneurship is an award-winning, pan-university program that empowers students to challenge the status quo and to create, innovate and lead positive change in the world. Students in this minor are able to take electives across many different schools at UVA, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and design thinking to create the most innovative solutions to real world problems. The minor gives students unique access to one-on-one advising in academics, internship funding, careers with impact and startup ideas for social good.

Social Entrepreneurship is one of three concentrations within the Entrepreneurship Minor at UVA, which is administratively hosted within the McIntire School of Commerce. Students must complete ENTP 1010: Startup to gain access to the Entrepreneurship Minor application and express a preference for the social entrepreneurship concentration in their application. Upon acceptance to the Minor in Social Entrepreneurship, students complete a core and capstone course through the Batten School in addition to two electives of choice offered by schools across the university.

Eligible Applicants
