To be eligible for admission, students must have earned 60 college credits prior to beginning the program. Incoming second-year transfers to UVA who are interested in the Batten undergraduate major must first be admitted to the University following the transfer application process for the College of Arts and Sciences and can then apply to Batten after successful transfer. Prerequisites completed at your previous institution will fulfill requirements if they are accepted for course credit by UVA through the transfer process. You may also take them during your first year at UVA, or even the summer after you apply to Batten. We also encourage you to sample our open introductory coursework to see if it is a good fit for you! We admit incoming third-year students directly into the undergraduate major each year who apply to UVA through the transfer application process. When you submit your application, please specify an interest in being considered for admission into the Batten School. You can find out more information about course requirements and transferring to UVA from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. You may be eligible to apply to the Batten minors in the spring, but will face tight scheduling requirements, especially if you have College area requirements still to fulfill. The minor is traditionally completed over two full academic years, so schedule a time to come talk to us to find out if you can complete it along an expedited timeline.
