Impact: Major. The Minor in Public Policy and Leadership examines public policy issues and decision-making processes through instruction in economic, political, historical, and psychological factors in public policy formulation and application. The program is designed to prepare students for entry-level professional careers in government and the non-profit sector, as well as graduate study in law, business, journalism, and other professional programs. Employers and graduate schools recognize a completed minor as indicative of broader preparation than a single degree and a sign of curiosity and eagerness to learn. The underlying model of policy analysis enriches and complements a variety of undergraduate specializations. The minor consists of 18 distinct credit hours of coursework with no double counting of courses with a student’s major or second major. For College of Arts & Sciences students interested in a double minor with Batten and another program, your second minor must be in the College of Arts and Sciences (that is, you cannot double minor at Batten and any other School except for the College).
