A Day for Reflection: A Trip to the Robert Russa Moton Museum
The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy will host a tour of the Robert Russa Moton Museum in Farmville, VA in collaboration with museum staff. UVA students, faculty and staff are invited to join the tour to learn more about the pivotal role students of the former Robert Russa Moton High School played in what is known as "America's student-led Civil Rights Revolution," which led to the 1954 landmark Supreme Court decision Brown v. Board of Education. In addition to receiving a museum tour, participants will engage in a storytelling session with Moton Museum staff. Open Q&A and lunch will follow the storytelling session.
Transportation will be provided for all registrants; space is limited and sign-up is on a first-come, first-served basis with a waitlist. After signing up, participants will receive an email with further details.
