Discussion on War Powers with Sen. Tim Kaine

On Friday, Jan. 17, the University of Virginia’s Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy will host a discussion on war powers with Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA).

Kaine, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations and Armed Services Committees, recently introduced a bipartisan war powers resolution that would prevent further escalation of hostilities with Iran without Congressional authorization. The senator has previously served as Virginia’s governor, lieutenant governor, and mayor of Richmond.

The discussion will be held at 12:15 p.m. in the Great Hall of Garrett Hall on the Grounds of the University of Virginia. Batten School Dean Ian H. Solomon will provide introductory remarks, followed by remarks from Kaine and questions from the audience.

The event is free and open to the public with advanced registration. Seating is limited.
