Elect Her by Running Start: A Workshop for Women Interested in Running for Office

In partnership with UVA Law and Darden, the Batten School invites graduate women who are interested in running for public office to an interactive and engaging afternoon of programming. The workshop, facilitated by UVA Law alum and CEO of Running Start Susannah Wellford, will focus on how to build a brand as a potential political candidate, including sessions on crafting an elevator pitch, finding a support network, and shaping a message and campaign platform. Participants will also hear remarks from Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV).

This event is co-hosted by Darden Business and Public Policy, Darden Graduate Women in Business Club and the Darden Adam Smith Society. Event co-sponsors include the Batten School, UVA School of Law and the UVA Women’s Center. Graduate women at Darden, UVA Law and Batten are eligible to register.
