International Development and Humanitarian Aid Career Program

Students interested in careers in international development and humanitarianism: this virtual event is for you! Come learn from alumni in the field of global development about career paths, important skills needed in this field, and how to "break in" to a job or internship in this sector. We will also address questions on how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the field. There will be opportunities to learn and network virtually with alumni and fellow students. Past alumni in attendance have worked in organizations such as USAID, DAI, World Economic Forum, Millennium Partners, Peace Corps, Refugee International and more!

This event will be held virtually with the option to join a viewing session in the Great Hall of Garrett Hall. The viewing session will provide students with the opportunity to speak with other students who have previously interned in the field, and a takeaway box lunch will be provided to all in-person attendees. Students who opt to attend virtually will receive a zoom link to view the event.

This event is hosted by: Global Development Studies, Center for Global Health, Batten Career Services and Global Policy Center, Economics Career Office & The Public Service & Government Career Community in the UVA Career Center.
