Political Ambition and the Gender Gap

Please join Batten professors Jen Lawless and Craig Volden for a conversation about the gender gap that exists when it comes to women’s ambition to run for political office. In a newly published report, Lawless charts not only the persistent gender gap in political ambition but reasons why this is still a challenge. With questions and insights from the Center for Effective Lawmaking Co-Director Craig Volden, Lawless will address what can be done to encourage more women to run for office.

This event is co-sponsored by the Batten School and the Center for Effective Lawmaking.  For the protection of our staff, faculty and guests, the Batten School strongly encourages visitors to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and recommends that unvaccinated patrons watch the recorded discussion online following the in-person program. To-go lunch will be provided for attendees.
