Public Health & Policy Networking Lunch

Please join us as we learn from UVA alumni who now work in various fields that intersect between Public Health and Policy. Hear from alumni representing a variety of organizations with diverse approaches to working with health and policy issues to learn more about opportunities in these fields. Lunch will be provided and participants will be able to connect with professionals and current UVA graduate students in the public policy and public health programs to further discuss different healthcare and policy career paths.

 

Alumni participants will include:

Alexander Boucher, MPP ’13 | Consultant with UVA Health System

Alex works as a consultant in Planning & Analysis at UVA Health, providing financial and operational analysis to Medical Center leadership in support of strategic decision making. Before moving to Charlottesville, Alex worked for five years at The Pew Charitable Trusts. There he specialized in evidence-based health care policy research aimed at helping policymakers identify and understand critical issues that affect states' economic and fiscal health. In his final three years at Pew, Alex worked on a research team that examined the manner in which states and localities manage prison and jail health care services--including health care delivery, spending, quality monitoring, and care continuity services. He received his Master of Public Policy from UVA’s Batten School.
