"Separated: Children at the Border" Film Screening with Lucy Bassett Sep 22, 2021 / 6:30 PM Online via Zoom Register Batten Associate Professor of Practice of Public Policy Lucy Bassett leads a screening and discussion of "Separated: Children at the Border" as part of a documentary series addressing the immigrant and refugee experience. The film screening begins at 6:30PM and will be followed by a discussion, moderated by Professor Bassett, exploring U.S. immigration policies involving children. The "Spotlight on Immigrants and Refugees: A Documentary Film Series" is presented by Welcoming Greater Charlottesville, Jefferson-Madison Regional Library and the International Rescue Committee. Lucy Bassett Lucy Bassett is a professor of practice in public policy at the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia. Bassett is an expert in children, caregivers, and communities in humanitarian and development contexts. Over her 15 year career, Bassett has worked with governments in low- and middle-income countries to expand access to quality education, nutrition and social protection services, particularly for poor and marginalized children and families.
