Kathryn Babineau Kathryn Babineau is a Ph.D. student in the University of Virginia’s Department of Sociology, where she studies globalization, labor rights, migration, and public and private regulation. She is particularly interested in the changing structure global agro-food supply chains, and the impacts on the workers whose labor drives them. Her dissertation work, which has taken her to Mexico, Guatemala, and the U.S. South, has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the Jefferson Scholars Foundation, and the UVA Quantitative Collaborative, among others. Her work has been published by Open Democracy, the Social Science Research Council, The Brookings Institution, and Harvard Business Review, among other outlets. Before returning to academia, she worked as a human rights investigator in US agriculture and as a foreign policy researcher and consultant, specializing in Latin America. She holds a Master of Philosophy in Latin American studies from the University of Oxford and a M.P.P. from the University of Virginia. Solomon Banjo Solomon is a Managing Director overseeing the Advisory Board's life sciences team. His team focuses on cross-industry challenges related to medical evidence, trends impacting the ways in which life sciences organizations interact with the rest of the health care ecosystem, and evolving life sciences market dynamics. In this role, he oversees the research and program strategy as well as the convening of events focused on the intersection of health care.
