Three professors at the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy were named as among the top 200 most influential education scholars in the U.S. in an annual ranking by the American Enterprise Institute’s Rick Hess. 

• Sarah Turner, professor of economics, education and public policy and the Souder Family Endowed Professor, ranked No. 96, up from No. 126 last year.
• Daphna Bassok, professor of education and public policy and associate director of EdPolicyWorks, a research collaboration with the UVA School of Education and Human Development, ranked No. 146, up from 178 last year. 
• Jim Wyckoff, professor of education and public policy, founding director of EdPolicyWorks, and the Memorial Professor of Education and Policy, ranked No. 148, up from 157 last year. 

Hess is director of Education Policy Studies at AEI and publishes a much-read blog on EducationWeek, “Rich Hess Straight Up.” 

Five other UVA faculty members were included on the list as well.
