New Partnership with Universidad de los Andes in Colombia

The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy recently formed a partnership with the Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia, to promote international cooperation and friendship.

As part of the Batten School’s international outreach in Latin America, the partnership will foster greater cooperation and exchange of ideas. The two schools plan to share research, as well as provide opportunities for both students and faculty to visit and learn at the other institution. The agreement offers unprecedented opportunities for student exchange programs as well. The University of Virginia has a strong study abroad program that already offers many options for students.

The Universidad de los Andes (Uniandes) is regarded as the top university in the Colombia and is listed in the top 10 for all of Latin America. Established in 1948, it is located in the historical center of Bogota. Bogota is the fastest growing city in Latin America and the Universidad boasts a student population of over 24,000. The university has educated numerous influential world figures, including journalists, economists, actors and politicians, including two Colombian presidents.
