I received my PhD in American Politics from the University of California, Riverside, in June 2020. In general, I am interested in American political institutions, especially the U.S. Congress and the separation of powers, lawmaking, and representation. My research interests stem in part from 2.5 years of experience working in Washington D.C. for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. My current research examines the bill writing behavior of members of Congress using an original data set of policy tools constructed from bill text. My research has appeared in Research and Politics, and the American Journal of Political Science. View All
