Gabrielle Adams conducts research on interpersonal dynamics and conflict resolution. A recent focus of her work has been on addressing workplace politics and resolving ethical transgressions through offender punishment, victim compensation, apologies, and forgiveness. She also studies prosocial behavior such as charitable donations and gift giving.

Her research has been published in journals such as Psychological Science; Journal of Experimental Psychology: General; Journal of Personality and Social Psychology; and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. It has also been featured by the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, and Harvard Business Review.

Professor Adams teaches courses on leadership, power, and organizational politics; interpersonal and group dynamics; negotiations; and technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. She has also taught executive education programs for top management teams in both public and private sectors. In 2014 she was honored as one of the Poets & Quants’ 40 Best Business School Professors Under 40. At UVA, she teaches the Foundations of Behavioral Science course and is the course director for Batten’s inaugural executive education program.
