Ahead of Virginia’s voter registration deadline Tuesday, Batten student Hannah Koizumi (BA '21) is helping her peers register to vote, volunteer as poll workers and make a plan to get to the polls.

Nearly five dozen UVA and Harvard University students have been selected for the new 22nd Century Scholars scholarship program, which is launching this week as partnered with the UVA Center for Politics, the Miller Center, and the Weldon Cooper Center/Sorensen Institute.

Batten teams up with the Center for Politics and several public service-focused departments at UVA – including the Miller Center for Public Affairs, the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service, the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership, and the UVA Career Center – to quickly design and launch a five-week virtual summer internship program.
