Shobe: Net-zero emissions by 2050 are achievable, affordable in Va.

In an article for The Virginian-Pilot, Batten's William Shobe writes that with careful planning and policy design, decarbonization in the Commonwealth is achievable by 2050. Earlier this year, Shobe and his colleagues at UVA’s Energy Transition Initiative released the state's first study to analyze the actions needed to reach this goal.

The Batten School Announces Michelle Nunn as 2019 Graduation Speaker

CARE USA President and CEO and University of Virginia alumna Michelle Nunn will be the keynote speaker during the Batten School’s 2019 Academic Regalia Ceremony on Saturday, May 18, at James Monroe’s Highland. Nunn, who graduated Phi Beta Kappa from UVA with a bachelor’s in history and a minor in religious studies, will address Batten’s Class of 2019 during this special ceremony, which marks the tenth anniversary of the Batten School’s first graduating class.
