The University of Virginia Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy is hosting graduate students from the Mid-Atlantic and Southern regions of the country.

Batten-affiliated Professor Melissa Thomas-Hunt has been appointed Senior Associate Dean and Global Chief Diversity Officer for the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. At the Batten School, Thomas-Hunt teaches courses in teamwork, conflict management and negotiation.

Undergraduate students Alexandra Lazares (BA ’16) and Scout Beron (BA ’16) are using what they’ve learned at Batten to take their unique idea to the next level. The two developed the company Ice Cube Innovation (ICI) while studying at Oxford University this summer, after noticing that people in the U.K. did not use ice in their drinks because of the dilution effects.
